The importance to keep the wife happy and the Jacuzzi's adventures

Everything started last summer when a high wind blow up, removed and broke up his regular patio umbrella.

Our neighbor then,  went immediately and bought a new one. Obviously the new model, bigger and red.

For some reason this new one didn’t work. Something was broken, and it was an embarrassing at  grandma and grandpa's annual  visit, a lot of explanations and subsequent wife's annoyance.

Then came the discussions between husband and wife,  a lot of shouting and recriminations, it seems caused for the poor man incapacity to deliver a sumptuous  patio environment, to relax in the summer  from the daily routines.

We started to think this was the beginning of the end of a marriage……

But , oh surprise!, at the  end of the summer,  one day a contractor showed up to install a canopy to cover,  guess what: a Jacuzzi. Very fancy. Not to large though.

But they installed it wrong , very close to the house window.  A new trial was necessary, and  after long deliberations  it was  reinstalled, with its long dark curtains, covering  all  perimeter. It seems they didn’t have   much interest in being spied  by the neighbors.
 I didn't  like the curtains.

At this moment the first cold nights had already  arrived, but the night Jacuzzi sessions started, to my dismay as they kick off  at around 11 PM. Music, beer,  laughing, chatting,  all covered by the curtains.
But there were only a few as the autumn cold was implacable. Thanks God!

Winter arrived and with it another set of  problems to my now friend, friend because now I share his troubles at a distance.
Maybe he,  after a deep manual  review,  learned that the roof can not withstand a lot of snow, so every time there a was a snowfall he  put all his winter gear and went out to remove the snow on the little roof with a long  handled brush.
I can sense the feeling of anxiety,  of thinking that the canopy can collapse, whipping out  all his efforts.

Not being this enough,  at the end of the winter, nature started with sustained  strong winds for long periods of time.
He started to get scared thinking that his little dome was going to start to fly away and with it his planned happiness for the summer.
So he laboriously went and  secured the  4 posts  with cables. You can image how his backyard will look now!

The winds passed and the little roof is there , waiting and waiting . Happy that survived and ready to deliver.

Hope there will be not too many nights, not too laud and for not too long, but welcomed if this makes the neighbor  happy enough.

For sure there will be more incidents, we will see. Now is the time to wait  for  new developments and measure how much happiness  a humble Jacuzzi can bring to my tenacious neighbor

The importance of potable water

It is important to understand the consequences of the lack of potable water in poor communities in the world. Government and non-governmental organizations are focusing their efforts to alleviate this problem, but until now  results are showing that there is more to do. Deprivation of potable water is the first cause of several health issues, that prevent the possibility of advancement in the fight against poverty. Women and children are first affected by this insufficiency as this impacts health since childbirth through the first years of development.  We should not let politicians and organizations deceit the public with false statistics, diminishing the significance of this service shortage. Surveillance groups should be created to ensure resources are applied where they need to be. All efforts will be compensated just capturing the delight of all earth communities watching the liquid flowing from pipes as a promise of a better future.

The unimportance of identity

Consider the fact that. in a few years, I shall be dead. This fact can seem depressing. But the reality is only this. After a certain time, none of the thoughts and experiences that occur will be directly causally related to this brain or be connected in certain ways to these present experiences. That is all this fact involves. And, in that description, my death seems to disappear. Derek Parfit  Derek Parfit was a British philosopher who specialized in personal identity, rationality and ethics. He is widely considered one of the most important and influential moral philosophers of the late 20th century and early 21st century .

Alice sense of entitlement

Sometimes when I admire Alice,   I wonder if her cat personality has a sense of entitlement or if she simply behaves as a Queen-pet- cat. Alice - The Queen  A sense of entitlement is defined as “unrealistic, unmerited or inappropriate expectation of favorable living conditions and favorable treatment at the hands of others”. Entitlement is found when there is a higher sense of belief in one’s importance and means the person believes he deserves certain privileges – and is arrogant about it. Let's go to Alice, her elegant demeanor and her impassivity at her surroundings leads you to bring immediately the sense of entitlement. Her selection of the unimaginable places to relax, unaware of any possible restrictions, corresponds the same to her high sense of self-importance. She understands her significance as being part of the family and takes for granted her care tasks without interruption. But, because of her pleasant, playful and sweet behavior, ...
